Johnson Matthey signs exclusive distribution agreement with DKSH

Johnson Matthey, a global leader in science that enables cleaner air, improved health and more efficient use of natural resources, today announced that it has signed an exclusive distribution agreement with DKSH, a leading Market Expansion Services provider with a focus on Asia, for the distribution of Johnson Matthey’s (JM) high-technology catalysts in Japan.

Under the agreement, DKSH’s Performance Material business unit will market and distribute JM’s extensive portfolio of biocatalysts, heterogeneous and homogeneous catalysts to pharmaceutical and fine chemical companies throughout Japan. The portfolio includes JM’s range of metal scavengers – comprising macroporous polymer and irregular silica – for metal impurity removal from organic and aqueous process streams.

These optimized solutions from JM will enable customers to gain a competitive edge, through increasing efficiency, minimizing waste and reducing cycle times, to deliver economically advantaged processes.

“We are delighted to partner with DKSH as it has a first-class reputation and extensive local knowledge of Japan,” commented Gerard Compagnoni, General Manager at JM. “We’re excited to deliver our world-leading catalytic technologies to the pharmaceutical and fine chemical industries in this region.”

Shigeru Ishihara, Director, DKSH Performance Materials, commented: “We are very pleased to exclusively partner with Johnson Matthey in Japan. The company’s advanced catalysts will greatly benefit our long-standing customer base by improving customers’ chemistry and production processes, as well as reducing cost and production waste. We look forward to a long and successful relationship.”
