Stephenson Personal Care launches innovative new range of naturally derived ingredients

Stephenson Personal Care is launching a unique range of naturally derived monoglyceryl and polyglyceryl esters – exclusively at this year’s In-Cosmetics Global exhibition, taking place this week, 17th -19th of April, in Amsterdam.

Natural and sustainable ingredients are key drivers in the global personal care and cosmetics market. With the market’s estimated valued at $350 billion and of that, the natural sector growing at an annual rate of 15%, pressure has been mounting from consumers for the industry to clean up its environmental act.

To tap into this market, Stephenson Personal Care launched 2 natural ingredients in 2016 which have proven to be a hugely successful. This combined with increasing trends and new product development allowed us to add 7 new ingredients to the range. Stephenson Personal Care has also changed the names of the existing products Durosoft SF and Durosoft PK-SG for consistency within the range: Durosoft SF is now known as Durosoft PG10-O & Durosoft PK-SG  is referred as Durosoft PG10L-SG (the physical form and INCI of these products remain the same).

The DUROSOFT range of ingredients – emulsifiers, emollients, thickeners and solubilisers – are developed to provide natural alternatives to synthetic ingredients currently found in many cosmetic and personal care products. This diverse product range also includes natural and RSPO Segregated (Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil) certified ingredients covering a wide range of HLB values and can be used in combination with each other to achieve the specific required HLB of a formulation. All of the ingredients are skin friendly, PEG and EO free with no deleterious effect on temperature sensitive ingredients.

Advantages of formulating with Durosoft:

  • Esters that are compatible with oil and water phases
  • No deleterious effect on temperature sensitive ingredients
  • Enables brand owners to make sustainable and natural finished product claims
  • Portfolio covers a wide HLB range of 4 – 14 and our ingredients can be used in combination with each other to achieve the required HLB of a formulation
  • Electrolyte tolerant.

Switching to these natural ingredients not only provides brands and manufacturers with a competitive advantage with new product development but also enhances a brand image as it reaffirms the brand’s reputation as a natural and sustainable producer.

Stephenson Personal Care will be showcasing its DUROSOFT range on stand G322 at In-Cosmetics. Visitors can also learn about innovations in natural and sustainable product development, by attending a technical seminar titled ‘Natural ingredients from speciality oils’, led by Stephenson Personal Care’s Technical Business Development Manager, Michaela Daubney and Technical Innovations Manager, Carmen Martinez Lerga, on Tuesday 17th April 2018, 09:30 – 10:00 in Theatre 1.
