Tosoh to establish integrated logistics centre in Japan

Tosoh Logistics Corporation, a Tosoh Group company in Shunan City, Yamaguchi Prefecture, will construct a specialized chemical logistics warehouse featuring freezing, cooling, and heating capabilities in Shunan’s harbour district. The tentatively named Rinkai Logistics Center No. 2 will be the largest integrated logistics warehouse for chemical products in western Japan. It is part of Tosoh’s infrastructure upgrades to handle increased volume as the company boosts its production capacities to meet heightened medium- and long-term demand.

The new facility will be the company’s third large-scale logistics warehouse in the Shunan area, after the Rinkai Refrigerated Warehouse—which has the most powerful freezing capacity in the country—and the Rinkai Logistics Center.

The new Tosoh Logistics warehouse will offer ambient temperature warehousing, and deep freezing, freezing, refrigerating, and heating storage capabilities, and mobile racks. Covering a broad temperature range, it will be the largest integrated logistics warehouse for chemical products in western Japan. Like the Rinkai Refrigerated Warehouse, the new facility will utilize the latest in energy-efficient natural refrigeration employing ammonia and CO2 as refrigerants. A rampway will enable direct access to the second of the facility’s three floors, greatly enhancing work efficiency by reducing wait times for trucks.

The Tosoh Group is responding to increasingly sophisticated and diverse logistics needs by fortifying its global supply chain, boosting efficiencies in its logistics functions, and promoting its development of environmentally friendly operations. Tosoh is therefore contributing to the realization of a sustainable society, particularly through its consideration of environmental preservation such as the mitigation of global warming.
